Holidays are here, and for sure they are a well deserved break after this crazy year!

Due to the pandemic, you probably didn’t plan big things this year. But still, it’s holiday time and the risk of eating and drinking more is real, without counting how mentally difficult it can be to keep the usual workout routine.

I believe that the workout routine doesn’t need to be the usual one, as long as you don’t let go of everything that you achieved with effort during the last 12 months.

What if this year we avoid big 1st of January resolutions, by keeping some of the momentum going so you’ll be at an advantage in the new year?

My approach this year will be:

  • Slow down

I will keep on training, especially because I started a running programme just less than two months ago, but I won’t stress if I will skip a run, and I will for sure take a short break from Pilates classes. I will make up with walks and more time spent in nature

So, keep your goal on sight, but don’t start the new year drained.

  • Find a workout partner

You will think twice before missing a workout – this is what accountability does. Try to motivate each others, and there are more chances that one of you will come out with new fun ideas.

  • Don’t get bored

Holidays are not for routine, so why don’t you find a new activity for these two weeks? There is so much online, maybe you can check a HIIT class, shorter and effective.

  • Wake up!

I 100% support this point: what doesn’t get done in the morning, is difficult to get it done later in the day.

Try to work-out as soon as you wake up. It feels brutal while you get ready, but you will feel so much better afterwards…and you’ll have the feeling to have accomplished something already. So even if you are planning to spend your day on the couch watching series, you are already closer to your goal. (Just imagine yourself leaving the couch at 5pm to workout before dinner…Isn’t that painful?)

  • Reward yourself

And not just with food!

A croissant sounds like a very nice reward after a morning workout, but can you think of other ways to show yourself some love? For example, those things that you don’t have time to do when working…Shopping, have your nails done, a facial, a tea with your friend.. Anything that feels a bit of a treat!

You will survive also this holiday season!

Take your very deserved break, and I hope to hear from a motivated you in January!

My Pilates classes will restart on the 11th of January, if you want to book your spot already, you can send me an email here.

Happy festive season!
